Flights took place near my home along Ellinor Ave. in Shelton WA. USA on the morning of 02-24-15 (or, "2015 24 Feb." or even, "February 24, Twenty Stick-Bent-Stick if you prefer).
Weather conditions at flight time were mostly sunny, temperature of 27°F (-2.8°C), and winds generally calm with occasional gusts variable to 1mph (0.865kts, 1.61kph)
I taped two quarters and a nickel (a United States 25¢ coin, and a United States 5¢ coin, respectively) to the front of the canopy in order to give it greater forward velocity and make it better able to fight minor headwinds. The extra quarter is because the tail rotor became busted in one of yesterday's flights.
The heli crashed into 7.2KV (7,200 volts) power lines and plummeted to the surface, but a cursory visual inspection revealed no additional damage, so the flights continued.

UDI U13A R/C Camera Heli flights 02-23-15 (2).
Flights took place in the parking lot of the now-defunct Red Apple Grocery across the street from the Quick-E-Mart in Shelton WA. USA on the afternoon of 02-23-15 (or, "2015 23 Feb." or even, "February 23, Twenty Stick-Bent-Stick if you prefer).
Weather conditions at flight time were sunny, temperature of 56°F (13.3°C), and winds out of the W at 3mph (2.595kts, 4.83kph).
I taped a quarter and a nickel (a United States 25¢ coin & a United States 5¢ coin, respectively) to the front of the canopy in order to give it greater forward velocity and make it better able to fight minor headwinds.
The gay little metal & plastic heli would not go forward even though I gave it full right-stick; the tail rotor was soon found to have petered out. Time to tape another quarter to the front of the canopy before any future flights. :-/
That seminiferious bungsnoidial buttsnoipe in the black & white checkered jacket & blue shirt that you may see is the pilot -- me of course. ;-)

UDI U13A R/C Camera Heli flight 02-23-15 (1).
Flight took place near my home along Ellinor Ave. in Shelton WA. USA on the morning of 02-23-15 (or, "2015 23 Feb." or even, "February 23, Twenty Stick-Bent-Stick if you prefer).
Weather conditions at flight time were sunny, temperature of 32°F (0°C), and winds calm.
I taped a quarter and a nickel (a United States 25¢ coin & a United States 5¢ coin, respectively) to the front of the canopy in order to give it greater forward velocity and make it better able to fight minor headwinds.
The gay little metal & plastic heli seemed to have trouble gaining altitude for the first couple of minutes as though the flight battery was pooped out; but I had it on the charger until the light turned green.
Methinks its time to swap out the flight battery with the one in one of my other (broken) UDI U891
3A helis.
That seminiferious bungsnoidial buttsnoipe in the dark green jacket & red shirt that you may see is the pilot -- me of course. ;-)
